Job Summary

The Referrals Legal Assistant provides support to the Referrals Team by ensuring that all cases that are referred out are kept updated with the required documents, processes, and guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Daily interaction with referral attorneys, clients, insurance companies, and medical providers.
  • Provide support to clients through the referral process by providing case status.
  • Schedule client meetings with referral attorneys as needed.
  • Review, upload, and process daily correspondence into the case files.
  • Maintain files properly notated with up-to-date case status e.g., settlements, resolutions, discharges, etc.
  • Assist referral firms with client communication as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be goal-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask while managing a high caseload.
  • Highly organized and be a self-starter.
  • Prior office or legal experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn new software.
